CIS Contactors & Sub-Contractors
Are you ready for the new scheme in April 2007 ?
In April 2007 the Revenue introduced a new CIS scheme – there will no longer be vouchers issued and each contractor will have to validate each sub-contractor with the revenue. Failure to validate a sub- contractor will result in the sub-contractor being stopped at a higher level of tax. Contractors will also have to do a monthly return which will result in penalties for any lateness or error. Contractors will also have to issue payment schedules to each contractor on a monthly basis. Finally Contractors will also have to make a monthly declaration that their contractors are self employed and not employed.
