HMRC – National Minimum Wage: How to check you are paying correctly

Last year HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) identified over £15 million in National Minimum Wage (NMW) pay arrears, for over 200,000 workers. You may be surprised to learn that even if you pay above the minimum wage, you could still be liable for underpayment.

We’ve produced a new series of recorded webinars to help you check, you are paying your workers correctly. The four webinars provide employers and agents with a walk through of HMRC’s approach to minimum wage compliance and provide a guide to carrying out a self-review.

Failure to comply with NMW legislation, can lead to a financial penalty and public naming, so we want to help employers get it right from the start. HMRC works in partnership with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to promote awareness of the minimum wage and the routes by which workers can make a complaint
